What can we work on?
Inner calm is a valuable possession amid the noise of everyday life. Below are examples of the issues we can work on together. Facing something else? Feel free to get in touch as well.

Anxiety or panic
Anxiety is a normal and useful emotion when danger threatens. When you also feel anxious in ordinary situations, it can disrupt your daily life.

Your journey begins by completing the contact form and immediately scheduling a free, no-obligation 15-minute advisory call online.

How it works
Your journey begins by completing the questions on the contact form, after which you can immediately schedule a free, no-obligation 15-minute advisory call. During this call you can explain your answers and share your expectations and needs. If needed, I ask a few additional questions to assess whether the care of Diyala Psychology Care suits you.

Intake session
At the first appointment we get to know each other more thoroughly and go deeper into your symptoms, your request for help and your treatment goals. Based on this I draw up a personal treatment plan, with the intended treatment method(s) and an indication of the number of sessions you are likely to need. Treatment can then begin.
Tailored care, without boxes
I do not provide contracted care. That means no referral, no deductible and no standardised treatments — but a unique treatment tailored to your needs. We adjust the length of sessions to your preference.
Appointments outside regular opening hours (Tue–Fri, 9:00–17:00) are possible by arrangement, with a surcharge of € 20 per hour.
Alternative ways of reimbursement
Supplementary insurance
If you have supplementary insurance, you may still be able to claim (part of) the cost of your treatment from your health insurer. Contact your health insurer and explain your situation.
Reimbursement through your employer
When you feel good, you often enjoy your work more and are less often ill. Your employer may therefore be willing to contribute to your psychological treatment, or even cover the cost entirely. Ask your employer about the options.
Deductible healthcare costs
If (part of) the cost of your treatment is at your own expense, you may be able to deduct it as special medical expenses in your tax return. For more information I refer you to the website of the Dutch Tax Administration.
The experiences of others
“Dima is a super friendly and warm person. She does her best to understand and help you, using evidence-based interventions that she explains clearly. If you are looking for an understanding, empathetic psychologist, I definitely recommend Dima.”

Dima al Hedni
I am Dima al Hedni, born in Iraq and raised in the Netherlands. I completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University. After gaining experience as a salaried psychologist, I started Diyala Psychology Care to help clients (re)find mental calm.
I have been living with my husband and cat in Rotterdam for several years now. In my free time I am a great fan of reading, and my hobby is discovering hobbies. So now and then I take a course in clay modelling, sewing, pottery or screen printing.

Expertise
During my work in mental health care I followed various courses to master new forms of therapy. As a result I now have a well-stocked toolbox with which treatments can be fully tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.

My career
At Erasmus University I completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology. As a student I gained a lot of experience supporting (young) adults and children with autism. After graduating I went to work in regular mental health care, where I encountered very diverse groups — including short (EMDR) treatment, long-term treatment for complex disorders, intercultural therapy, and care for undocumented people.

Treatment location
In-person treatments take place in a pleasant, quiet space in Kralingen. And we can also meet online. I offer treatments in Dutch, English and (classical) Arabic. Everyone I can offer suitable help to is welcome.
